Major Training Courses and Worshops Organized at Bureau
  • Practical in-house training Course on Molecular Genetics for Scientists of NBAGR, Karnal was organized at DNA Fingerprinting Unit during Dec-Jan 2000 for 40 days.
  • Workshops on Country Report on AnGR: Two national workshops (10-11 Jan. 2003 and 5-6 March, 2003) were organized at NBAGR, Karnal to prepare the draft Country Report under the SoW (State of the World) process funded by FAO. In the National Workshops, the Nodal Officers from different states were given training and guidelines for collecting data, compilation, discussion and revision of the base document that led to the preparation of the Country Report on AnGR for submission to FAO in the global endeavour
  • A training programme on “Charcaterization and Conservation of AnGR” was organized from 2 August to 11 August, 2004.
  • A training programme on “Gene Charcaterization and BiodiversityAnalysis” under NATP (MM) project was held on 4 to 13 October, 2004.
  • Advance training course on Molecular Techniques for Genome Analysis and Gene Mapping was organized from 16th Feb. to 25th Feb. 2005 at DNA Fingerprinting Unit. Eighteen scientists/teachers from ICAR Institutes and State Agricultural Universities participated in the course.
  • A traning programme on “Biodiversity and its Analysis using Biotechnological Tools” was organized from 24 May to 30 June, 2005.
  • A traning programme on “Role of Biotechnology in Animal Biodiversity Analysis” was organized from 13 July to 25August, 2005.
  • A training programme on “Charcaterization and Conservation of AnGR” for state animal husbandary officers of Maharashtra, West Bengal and Nagaland was organized from 29 August to 7 September, 2005.
  • Advance training course on Molecular Techniques for Gene Characterization & Genomic Analysis was organized from 17 to 26 Nov. 2005 at DNA Fingerprinting Unit. Seventeen scientists/teachers from ICAR Institutes and State Agricultural Universities participated in the course.
  • A Rashtriya Hindi Karyashala on “Rajbhasha ke prachar-prasar mein hindi anubhago kee prasangikta” was also organized by the Bureau during 5-6 Sept. 2006. In this workshop, scientist/staff of different ICAR institutes, staff of various central govt. departments across the country and the local colleges participated and presented more than 40 papers.
  • A training programme on “Charcaterization and Conservation of AnGR” was organized for the veterinary officers of Govt. of Tripura from 16 Nov. to 25 Nov. 2006.
  • A Biodiversity Awareness Workshop on “Animal Genetic Resources and Conservation” was organized on April 22-23, 2006 at NBAGR in collaboration with the National Biodiversity Authority, Chennai.
  • A model training course on “Indigenous Livestock and Poultry Conservation in Field Conditions” was organized in the Bureau from September 12-19, 2007.
  • A winter School on “Molecular Markers in “Biodiversity Analysis in Livestock and Poultry” was organized at NBAGR from 13 November to 3 Decemeber, 2007.
  • Seveal brain-storming sessions/workshops on “Animal Genetic Resources (AnGR)” of the following states were organized by Bureau in collaborations with the state AH Dept. of that state.
